IBM Research

IBM Research is a group of researchers, scientists, technologists, engineers, designers, and thinkers inventing what’s next in computing. Our goal is to be the engine of change for IBM, our partners, and the world at large. We’ve invested in 19 world-class research facilities spread across 12 laboratories on five continents, where we can be immersed in regional challenges. These labs are collaboration hubs where more than 3,000 researchers cross-pollinate ideas that lead to major breakthroughs.

The Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute

The Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (SLMath), formerly known as MSRI, is a landmark of US and world collaborative mathematical research. Over 1,700 mathematical scientists spend time at SLMath’s Berkeley, California headquarters each year. It is a place where breakthroughs are made, research areas are created, and brilliant careers are launched. SLMath education and outreach programs and film production for public television reach millions worldwide. The Institute has been supported since its origins by the National Science Foundation, joined by other government agencies, private foundations, corporations, individual donors, and over 100 academic institutions.
